Day 1, 2 & 3  Mumbai (Bombay)

India's most eclectic and cosmopolitan city. Finance, art, nightlife, street eats, Bollywood and much more...

Day 4 Mumbai - Bhuj

 Meet with artisans from many different trades and communities and tribal villages,  and look at the work done by co-operative networks (NGO’s), some of whom have done a great deal to empower women and sustain and promote the work of local artisans.

Day 5 Bhuj - Dhammadka - Mundra - Mandvi

Using block printing and natural dyes, Ajrakh work is a complex process of precise and uniquely geometric floral designs.  Mundra, the home and worshop of Shakil Ahmed Khatri with whom we’ll explore the world of batik. Mandvi, visit the Vijay Villas Palace and the Ship building yard.  

Day 6 Mandvi - Bhadali - Nirona - Nani aral  

The art of bandhani (tie & dye) is a supremely skilled process. 

Visit nearby villages to meet local artisans and look at their work. Rogan textile art, Hand made bells, Lacquer and Leather work.

Day 7 Hodka Village - Dhoro - Ludiya

Devoted to the preservation of traditional art, Kala Raksha works towards the comprehensive development of traditional artisans and expanding their creative capacity.

Village Resort Shaam-e-Sarhad owned and operated by The Village Tourism Committee of the indigenous people from Hodka village.

Visit the uniquely decorated and painted homes of several families of artisans, learn about their customs and their livelihoods.

Later, a drive to the White Salt Desert (The White Rann)

Day 8 Hodka - Bhujodi - Shrujan - Little Rann

In Bhujodi, visit with a master weaver, winner of several national awards, who will take us around his workshops, and give us a demonstration of his superb work.

Day 9 Little Rann - Patan - Ahmedabad

Jeep safari to take in the bird and animal life in the Little Rann Sanctuary. Drive to Patan, the land of the Patola silk saries and Rani ki Vav, an excellent example of subterranean step-well architecture. Finally, in Ahmedabad, the capital of the state of Gujarat.

Day 10 Ahmedabad

Day trip to the incredible Calico Museum Of Textiles, justly regarded today as one of the foremost textile museums of the world, Gandhi’s famous ashram on the banks of the river Sabarmati, the Shreyas Museum of Folk Arts or the kite museum among others. City walk.

Day 11 Ahmedabad - Jaipur

Often called The Pink City because of its distinctly colored buildings, and gateway to the desert state of Rajasthan.

Day 12 Jaipur

Amber Fort: If you want to ride an elephant this is the place to do it, all the way up to the entrance to the fort. The Fort's architecture is a magnificent blend of Hindu and Mughal influences. The Anokhi textile museum and city tour.

Day 13 Sanganer - Bagru - 

Sanganer, famous for its textile wood block printing and handmade paper industry.

Bagru prints are characterized by circular designs as well as linear and floral patterns, and each of these prints has a separate significance.

Drive to Agra stopping on the way in Fatehpur Sikri, often called the abandoned city or the ghost city. The well preserved buildings are a magnificent example of Mughal architecture at its peak.                                      

Day 14 Jaipur    

Elephant safari - Only a short drive out of the City shall take you Dera Amer – behind the hills of famous Fort Amer. Foothills of the Aravali Range and surrounded by wilderness of a reserved forest. 

Day 15 Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra 

Visit the Taj Mahal and the Agra Red Fort.

No matter how many photographs you’ve seen of the Taj Mahal, seeing it in the flesh, so to speak, is still a very physical and emotional experience.

Day 16, 17 & 18 Agra - Delhi

Our last 2 days!  On the city tour in the capital of India you will discover captivating ancient monuments, fascinating museums and art galleries, architecture wonders, a vivacious performing-art scene, fabulous eating places, shopping and bustling markets.

Day 24, 25, 26, 27 Delhi - Khajuraho & Panna National Park

Khajuraho. The Erotic Temples, One Of The Unesco World Heritage Sites, Famous For Their Nagara Style Architectural Symbolism And Erotic Sculptures.  

Panna National Park, situated in the Vindhya hills along the tranquil Ken River, one of the cleanest rivers in the world. The park itself is a vast plateau dominated by lush tropical forests, deep ravines, cascading waterfalls and thick teak forests. Jeep safari.
